Long bio (150 words)
Meg Macallan is the pen name of a forensic accountant who spent eleven years in fraud auditing before leaving the firm without a forwarding address. She writes from a snowbound A-frame in the Rockies, with Ledger the half-wolf at her feet and Debit the cat on the desk where the manuscript is supposed to be.
Her novels are forensic noir: fair-play whodunits built on real financial mechanics. They draw from public case documents—wire transfer mechanics, beneficial ownership concealment, jurisdiction shopping—not invented thriller-isms. The series follows Lex Vaughn, a former IRS agent turned private forensic investigator, as she reconciles wire transfers, motive, and murder from a cabin in the mountains.
Her debut, The Widow's Going Concern, the first novel in The Adverse Anomaly series, publishes June 15, 2027. Her readers are often accountants, auditors, lawyers, and former regulators who want financial crime done right. She publishes a newsletter, Adverse Anomaly, on Substack.
